EVAZESIR

EvazéSir, a French artist duo (both born in 1984). Sir, a self-taught artist, started with graffiti and began painting in abandoned places at a young age. He later developed a passion for stenciling, particularly the exploration of patterns. Meanwhile, Eva pursued a more academic path in art school, focusing on the study of black and white characters and questioning their role in society. Two visual identities converge: the realism of brush painting merges with an urban graphic style using aerosol.
Active internationally on the streets since 2009, the duo creates in situ paintings, collages, and immense murals. They are equally productive in the studio, crafting installations and paintings. Each of their interventions draws its strength from the assembly of their found objects. Wood, pieces of antique furniture, obsolete items, paper... everything serves as a medium to tell stories.
Since 2015, they have been creating three-dimensional, site-specific installations, playfully mixing graphic techniques and the aggregation of recycled materials. Notable examples include works at the Château de Rentilly, on Fluctuart (a floating urban art center in Paris), and for the recent Immersion exhibition at the Parcelle473 museum in Montpellier. Their artworks gather the effects of time, which they explore with nostalgia, leaving behind a trace—the trace of memories. Figures, characters, and patterns make the materials and walls speak, breathing a second life into these spaces and summoning the imagination.
