MISS VAN

Miss Van, born Vanessa Alice Bensimon in 1973 in Toulouse, is one of the global pioneers of female street art. As early as 1993, she began painting sensual and mysterious female figures—her poupées (dolls)—on the walls of her hometown, creating an immediately recognizable burlesque and poetic universe.
Her work, which traverses both the street and the gallery with equal rigor, has been presented in numerous institutions across Europe, the United States, and Asia. In 2016, she held her first institutional exhibition at the Centro de Arte Contemporáneo in Málaga. She lives in Barcelona.
